My Little Heart breaker

Yesterday I was doing all of the typical hurrying to get out to the school bus stuff when I stood at the door with my dear son and started going through my list:

Me - O.k. - I remembered your Box Tops for Education, your check for the pumpkin patch, your homework..... hmmm.... did I forget anything?

The Little Heart breaker - Yes Mommy...... did you remember that I love you?

Moms and Dads watch out - He may steal your daughter's heart one day!

A Kingdom for Kids - Dutch Wonderland

We piled the family in the van again for another long ride - this time to PA to visit Dutch Wonderland. For those of you that haven't been, it's an amusement park geared to the under 10 crowd. We met our friends along with their son and enjoyed the beautiful weather and excitement. The boys had so much fun and Bella spent most of her day in search of the next "horsey". They rode all the rides and the boys really enjoyed the roller coasters and the log ride. Bella could have won the Guinness Book of World Records for the most times on the carousel. I received an emergency call from Grandma to come ride the carousel with Bella because she had already gone so many times that she felt ill.

There were way too many pictures to post so I created a slide show over there on the right.

Too Busy to Blog.....

September whizzed by with so much to do that I haven't even had time to download pictures let alone post anything! It started off with our Anniversary which happened to fall on a weekday so we had a very low key celebration. We did combine it with my birthday and made a trip to a Wine Festival with 2 of our friends. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time picnicking and sampling lots and lots of great wines. We stayed the night at a B&B and had a lovely undisturbed dinner - minus our lovely nightly dinner companions who were with Grandmom.

This past weekend we headed to upstate NY and visited my hubby's Aunt and Uncle. Our poor son woke up with what we thought was a little tummy bug, but took a pretty bad turn for the worse about half way through the trip. He was quite the little trooper given he went through many changes of clothes.... hurled in a plastic cup and put his head deep within a gas station toilet. On Saturday he felt a little better and we managed to get out for a few hours to visit a farm where the kids had a great time. It was nice to catch-up with family and to see all of the
changing leaves.

Finally - A little progress

Well - we all weighed in on Sunday and I am down a little over 5 pounds! I was very excited to hear that little piece of news after all of these months. So, I stuck to my food journal and that helped a lot with the munching here and there. I also stretched each morning and that helps set the tone for the day. This week, I am going to drink my water each day and will work out 4 days this week.

We have a fun weekend which will make this week a little harder. We are going to the MD Wine Festival and to a B&B to celebrate my B-day and our Anniv. Wish me luck!

The Tradition is Carried On

Bella started her first day at the Preschool Our now Big Boy attended from when he was two all the way through Pre-K. There is only one picture of her because once she heard that she was going to "Little Girl's School" she tore out of the house and to the van - no time for pretty poses for this fair lass. Then we arrived at school and she snatched her rolling backpack; darted down the walkway and into the school buzzing by the receptionist and straight into the Boys old room. Good thing that a.) I can now run really fast and b.) she is in the same room as her big brother was in last time. She gave her teacher a big hug and sat down with all the girls (10 girls and one boy to be exact). She did decide that at one point it was time to go and she made her good old high speed prison break. Her teacher commented that "Boy she can run FAST" - that's our girl! She only gets to spend 2.5 hours a day twice a week there, but she loves it.

Weight Loss Challenge

I am joining an 11 week weight loss challenge at one of the local Churches. It is like the Biggest Looser where they put everyone on teams to provide encouragement. I love a little challenge so I thought this would be perfect for me. My goal is 15 pounds - anyone else want to jump on my band wagon? You don't have to come to the weekly meeting, but we can keep tabs on our progress. Don't forget... all of those Fall clothes are just lurking in your closet waiting to see if they fit.
