These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

I'm happy to report that this Christmas we did the things that we wanted to do instead of saying that we would just do them next year. We enjoyed the fact that we have 2 kids that still believe in the magic of Christmas. Here they are putting out cookies for Santa. We were blessed to be able to provide Santa with the means to bring so many goodies.

My Husband lucked out and has a "best buddy" that shares his same geeky interests.

We were happy that our son kicked the cold so we could do our annual X-Mas Eve trip a day late.

We were fortunate enough to be able to stop and smell the flowers this holiday season.

Have a safe and Happy New Year's Eve!!!!

Just Go To Sleep!

Our son is so excited and he cannot sleep even though it is now 11:08PM! He is up there in bed talking about Santa and Jesus. Mommy and Daddy are going to be awake for a long long time at this rate!

Colds and Christmas Fun

First it was the stomach bug and now it is the sore throat, achy overall ick bug which has went from Mommy to Son this week. Here's what we did before everyone got a cold for Christmas. We baked so many cookies that we had to put our youngest to work.

We took Grandma out for Mexican for her "Office X-Mas Party"

We visited a cool farm which was totally decked out for Christmas. Check out those dance moves The Girls came over for a drink to kick off the holiday! Today we were suppose to take our annual Christmas Eve trip to DC, but our son was just too sick. Instead we bought new PJs and watched Horton Hears a Who!

More Christmas Fun

Tonight we visited one of the parks in the area for their festival of lights. The kids spent the whole time screaming at all of the cool things they saw.

Santa and Tears

I saw this great book today in my browsing of Yahoo news. My children have never been big fans of sitting on some strangers lap and asking for toys. Not even a candy cane can entice Bella.
They should have asked me for a picture! Mommy did learn from her mistake - no Santa pics this year!

Vanilla Ice and Friends

We had a little mock high school reunion on Friday night. It's funny to see that quite a few of the folks that I went to school with have moved back to "the county". We could not wait to get out and here we are again! Combined we have been all over the world. The holidays are a great excuse to come together with old and new friends. We are all moms now.

We laughed about "old times"
We still share the same interests, but now they are a little different.
Some of us danced like it was a high school reunion - Ice Ice Baby! I was laughing too hard to get a shot of the "Running Man", "Sprinkler" or "Grocery Cart" moves.

Sugar High

On Sunday we enjoyed our annual Ginger Bread House construction. They will probably be Ginger Bread Mansions by the time the kids are older. Each year we learn a little more about this sweet tradition and how much sugar the kids can take before they go crazy.

Elvis Spotting

I'm taking every opportunity to enjoy the holidays rather than rushing through them and wondering where the time went. This weekend we went to the local holiday parade. It was the perfect size for the kids.
All bundled up and ready to rollThere were floats, cars, red had clad ladies, horses, festive locals and....

TONS of candy thrown from the cars!

There was also hot cider, the lighting of the tree - and time to play. Take some time and play this week!

Good Excuse

So - It has taken me so long to post anything about Thanks Giving due to my darn Time Management class!

The day started as any typical Thanks Giving - we set the table for 18 and set up the house.

We decided on a nice chambord champagne cocktail to kick of the cocktail hour.

The Official Turkey Carver was crowned (I am going to hear about this one)

Here is my brother and his prized crab dip along with our buffet line - yum!

Let the Feast Begin!

What holiday is complete without the little ones... the other little ones were having too much fun to stand still enough for pictures.

Black Friday came and we decided to paint and eat leftovers!
